Ius Doni: Citizenship-by-Investment and an Overview of Investment Migration Programs

Dr. Kälin made this presentation to the University of Bern, Switzerland, on 17 May 2018. As well as discussing the various forms that national citizenship may take, he presents an overview of the history of citizenship, beginning with the Roman Empire, moving through the constitutional elements of citizenship in the UK, and finishing with a brief discussion of citizenship in its current form. Dr. Kälin then goes on to present the reasons for wanting alternative citizenship and describe some of the best citizenship-by-investment programs currently available in the world.
