This Forbes ‘Editor’s Pick’ discusses the Q3 edition of the Henley Passport Index — released shortly after the EU announced revised travel restrictions that will see visitors from 14 countries being allowed to enter the bloc, but not US visitors. In a remarkable inversion, this places the US on a par with Mexico’s usual travel freedom score (although Mexico does not appear on the EU’s welcome list either). Dr. Christian H. Kälin is quoted as saying "We see an emergence of a new global hierarchy in terms of mobility, with countries that have effectively managed the pandemic taking the lead, and countries that have handled it poorly falling behind".
